At 0236, workers at the Walmart noticed smoke coming from an outdoor storage rack three stories up. They called 911 and Frederick dispatched Engine companies 15, 19, and Tower 16 to the address, 501 Walmart Drive. Engine 15 arrived with a small fire in a few bags of mulch. Tower 16 used portable ladders to get a line up to the mulch. The bucket was also set up to help with overhaul. The tower was in service at 0407.
